John has lived in Louisiana his entire life, being born in Shreveport and graduating from Caddo Magnet High School in 1998. John graduated from Louisiana Tech in Ruston in 2001 where he received a degree in Finance. John then attended Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, graduating Magna Cum Laude. John's family is deeply rooted in North and Central Louisiana with close connections to Monroe, Natchitoches, Ruston, Alexandria, Minden, Haughton, Winnfield, and Coushatta. John is married to Dee Harris and together they are raising four beautiful daughters, Molly, Zoey, Johanna, and Sloan.
John is a sought after speaker for a variety of industries on topics related to his areas of practice including contested successions. In his spare time, John enjoys spending time with his family, amateur radio, and backpacking.
